Gardiene Trautmann

Gerdiene started taking singing lessons late in high school but soon discovered that she loved it and could think of almost nothing else. Highlights of her Bachelor degree as a music major have been touring France and Germany with the Concordia Concert Choir and being asked to perform for her university’s Honorary Degree Banquet. Gerdiene successfully completed her voice recital this past March as one of the final senior projects towards her Bachelor of Arts degree. Two summers ago she participated in Cowtown Opera Summer Academy, a 10-day intensive program in Calgary and participated in another summer program this past summer at Opera Nuova’s 10-day Development Program in Edmonton. Her love for singing is continually growing and she finds passion for understanding how the voice and body can better work together in creating such beautiful, rich sounds. Next year she will be singing in the Ariose Women’s Choir and completing her degree as well as getting a certificate in vocal performance and pedagogy offered for the first time at Concordia.
