For 20 years music has been a surrounding force that Andrew could not ignore. Raised here in Sherwood Park, he quickly caught on to the ambience that had been ringing in his ears. Raised in a musical family, Andrew quickly picked up the urge to start playing music at age 5, playing violin. 15 years later he has picked up many instruments including mandolin, bass guitar, harmonica, ukelele, piano, drums, but most prominently the guitar. For 9 years Andrew has continued to make guitar his primary focus musically, originally being inspired by blues and rockabilly, and now incorporating jazz, funk, folk, country and rock into the mix as well. Performance wise, Andrew is well acquainted playing live sets, having performed in church worship bands, a string quartet, high school jazz band and concert band, gigs with various musicians, and even touring Western Canada and Belize with the Junkyard Poets. Currently, aside from teaching guitar, Andrew is a session musician for various local artists’ recordings as well working on his debut solo album of all original material, that should be released in Spring. He feels very privileged to be joining Sherwood Park Music for a fifth year.
